Ms Bocking is a passionate advocate for mental health reform and improving the lives of people labelled with mental illness. She has worked across the community, government and tertiary education sectors in a range of roles for over fifteen years. Her PhD thesis explores the emerging critical discipline ‘Mad Studies’ in Australia. Ms Bocking has experience in innovative health curricula design which stimulates critical thinking. In 2017, she taught an original module for Bachelor of Nursing students at the University of Canberra. She is a current NHRMC co-investigator (2018-2021) examining the impact of embedding a cardio nurse within a public community mental health team.
