Rural and Remote Medicine Specialists

Overview
Mental health is a priority area for Medical Specialists in rural and remote areas for many reasons, including the high incidence of mental health conditions, high morbidity and mortality, the different case mix of mental health conditions and the specific challenges of mental health care delivery in rural and remote settings.
This contemporary recovery-oriented program fosters collaboration with other medical specialists including Psychiatry Trainees and General Practitioners, to ensure Rural and Remote Medical Specialists facilitate a supportive journey to recovery for those with mental illness.
The Psychiatric Medicine program for Rural and Remote Medicine Specialists has been developed with consideration of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) Mental Health Advanced Skills Training Curriculum Edition 2.
Further information on the Psychiatric Medicine program including study options and other specialisations can be accessed at the Psychiatric Medicine Overview webpage.
